We encourage eligible prospective future tenants to contact The Society for an application so that we have a healthy list of people we may call on when an apartment comes available. Sometimes there is only a short turnover time to decide who will be the next tenant and we may not be able to wait for an application to be received before making our decision. Instructions for completion are included in the application package.

Often people are curious about the criteria for tenancy at The Osprey. You must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and have lived in BC for the last 6 months. We do place importance on a person’s ties to the Slocan Valley, family and friends. However, that is not the sole criteria. We also consider need, health and other factors. Most importantly a person must be able to live independently in our units. Of course as with other renters anywhere, they can bring in home support or other support workers at their own cost.
LAYOUT AND AMENITIES
The two-storey building at 602 Slocan Ave. provides a mix of studio, one-, two- and three- bedroom units, including four fully accessible homes, to meet the diverse needs of the community. The Osprey Residence has two green spaces to foster a sense of community among residents and is well connected to nearby services and amenities.
